Child theme stopped working

    I am using Blaskan 2.6.6 on WordPress 4.4. I have been using a child theme for Blaskan for several years. Today, it isn’t being recognized. When I went to the Themes page, it showed the child theme as active and it showed Blaskan is installed. However, I got a message that I needed to install the parent theme.

    I reinstalled the Blaskan theme but it still isn’t being recognized. At the bottom it has:

    Broken Themes

    The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
    Name Description
    Blaskan Child The parent theme is missing. Please install the “blaskan (this must correspond with the parent theme’s name)” parent theme. Delete Install Parent Theme

    I set the theme to the new Twenty Sixteen, then I deleted both the Blaskan theme and the Blaskan child theme. Logged out, restarted the browser. Went to the Themes page and installed the Blaskan theme and made it active. Then I uploaded my child theme.

    It isn’t showing up in the themes page but at the bottom of the Themes page it has the same information about the broken theme again.

    Is there something in WoerdPress 4.4 that is causing this?
