Free shipping when enabled would apply to the entire cart.
Ok, is there a way to apply free shipping only to certain product from cart?
Not with the core shipping methods, unless you made it virtual so it never had shipping costs.
Hi Mike,
no, we have no virtual products.
Maybe it would be useful to add it in one of your next versions of the plugin. I see that my clients have strategies like that.
Thanks anyway,
Veljko
If you made it virtual, it wouldn’t have shipping costs is what I’m suggesting.
Making the product virtual would not be a good idea, because:
1) The product has to have a shipping rate when somebody adds it to cart.
2) If the same (first) product is added to cart, together with some other (second) product, coupon for free shipping should be applied, but only to that particular (first) product.
So, making the first product virtual is not the solution.
Your OP didn’t mention that. I don’t want to suggest anything else until you’ve outlined how this should work exactly, for what products, and under which conditions.
Hi Mike,
1) We should have a regular single product with price and shipping and another variable product with same price for each variation and of course with shipping.
2) We have a plugin that creates an offer with second product for customers who added the first product to cart. In other words, customer added the first product to cart and when he is in the cart page, a pop-up comes out, offers second product with reduced price and free shipping.
3) If customers clicks on add to cart, to add the offered product, it is added to cart, with reduced price, but we also need a free shipping just for that product. In other words shipping shouldn’t be increased.
I hope that it is more clear now.
