    Hello,

I am trying to display a daily and weekly list in my left sidebar by using two top 10 widgets. The daily widget’s custom date range is set to 24 hours and the weekly widget’s date range is set to seven days. Both widgets are displaying the same posts with the same view count, so I believe the custom date range field is not working/ getting applied. Any tricks to get the custom range apply to the widgets?

Any help you can provide for this issue would be much appreciated, thanks.

Could you please post a screenshot of both your widgets?

    Hello WebberZone,

Here is the screenshot of the widget: file:///home/chronos/u-549ad9cdb5f608445df6f9c0d66487e17cb3364d/Downloads/Screenshot%202015-12-13%20at%201.31.39%20PM.png

Both widgets are in the left sidebar. From the view counts on the posts you can see that the views are the same due to the custom date range not being applied. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

Oh sorry for the mix-up. Here are the screenshots of the widget settings for both of the widgets.

    Daily widget: http://www.hitdex.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Daily-Filter.png

    Weekly Widget: http://www.hitdex.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Weekly-Filter.png

Hopefully that helps. If you need any additional information please let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

As an alternative fix I used the php snippets in the single.php. I used the daily php snippet for the daily time frame and then the overall posts snippet with a restriction in the Top 10 settings to show only posts that are at most 7 days old for the weekly timeframe.

So this fix resolved my issue but the date range in the widgets settings was still not being applied the last time I checked so it might be something you want to check to see is not a larger issue.

Great work on the plugin. 10/10!

Thanks for the details. The settings are definitely correct for the widget. I’ll need to do some tests where the settings may not be working properly in duplicate.

Can you check your Top 10 settings page to see if the cache is disabled?

    (@ericdzen)

The cache was enabled within the Top 10 settings. I just disabled the cache and then re-enabled the widgets in the sidebar and that did resolve the issue I was experiencing. After disabling the cache within the Top 10 settings it seemed like the Top 10 widget’s settings date range was now being applied to the widgets.

So with the php snippet and disabling the Top 10 cache I was able to display daily and weekly top posts within the sidebar. If you need any additional info or things for me to check just shoot me a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Thanks for the great support!

Thanks. That definitely helps. I’ve filed a bug in my issue tracker. I’ll need to get the caching functions to work across multiple widgets. Right now there is one for the daily and one for the overall widget.

Thank you. It should be fixed in the next version. Although I can’t give you a fixed time for this yet

This has been resolved in the current development release in the Github repo and will be available in the next version.
