Broken Images

    I noticed a week ago, all images are broken, including the ones showing on my social media bar. But I have not had time to work on it. When I am in the Library, they look the same, the broken image link. This occurred by the way before upgrade, since I have neglected this site for the past few months, working on others, I honestly do not know when this occurred. Just started getting firewall alerts to my wp-config.php. Which prompted me to take a look and make some changes to security protocols.

    I go the file location in my cpanel, the images are there. But in WP they are not. All broken links images. NO other updates had been completed until the latest WP update, then I updated plugins, themes.

    Why and how could this happen? I want to prevent it from happening. And this is the only site this has happened to. My other sites are operating efficiently.

    Update: When I click the link for the image I get a “Not Found, It looks like nothing was found at that location…” I have logged into my Cpanel, checked the folder, the images are there according to the path.

    What am I missing?

    WordPress 4.4 had same issue in last version.

    I finally discovered the problem. When my images were being hacked, not sure why, I put a password on the directory. Taking that off, I now have pics. Forgot all about it. Decided to browse security features and learn more, found it.

    Will have to learn more. Thank you for listening.
