Disable e-mail verification of subscription

    I’m checking if it is ever possible to disable the e-mail verification. The reason is that China has blocked wordpress.com, so those verification links never works for most of my readers… I understand the consideration about spam emails, but just checking if this would be possible.

    I’m afraid that won’t be an option. Double opt-in is fairly standard for email subscriptions, and allowing people to subscribe just by entering their email address would open the door to spammers, as you mentioned.

    Since most of your readers are in China, since Jetpack Subscriptions are sent from WordPress.com servers, and since unsubscribe options also require accessing WordPress.com, it’s probably best if you switch to a different service like MailPoet to manage your subscriptions. Indeed, even if subscribing were possible without confirming via an extra email, you’d still want your subscribers to be able to unsubscribe.
