    Hello,
On a single site having v2.5.4 we changed themes and regenerated thumbnails.
After that we thought it was a good idea to force re-optimize all the images on the library.
While re-optimizing we got the warnings:
    First a bulk of

PHP Warning: exec(): Unable to fork [/usr/syno/bin/nice 2>&1] in /wp-content/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/ewww-image-optimizer.php on line 1157

    and then another bulk of:

PHP Warning: exec(): Unable to fork [/wp-content/ewww/jpegtran-alt -v /wp-content/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/sample.jpg 2>&1] in /wp-content/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/ewww-image-optimizer.php on line 1096

EWWW is configured with the default settings, debugging deactivated, having a clear (green) status:

jpegtran: Installed version: Independent JPEG Group’s JPEGTRAN, version 9a 19-Jan-2014
optipng: Installed version: OptiPNG version 0.7.5
gifsicle: Installed version: LCDF Gifsicle 1.87
    safe mode: Off  exec(): Enabled
Graphics libraries – only need one, used for conversion, not optimization
GD: Installed  Gmagick: Missing  Imagick: Installed  Imagemagick ‘convert’: Installed
    Only need one of these:
finfo: Installed  getimagesize(): Installed  mime_content_type(): Installed

I understand it is only warnings but it does fill up the error log
Any ideas on how to avoid them?

    Thank you

PS: Searching the forums I found two (one, two) similar 3 years old posts.

Are you able to try a server reboot and see if that clears them up?

If not, what sort of hosting do you have? Shared, VPS, dedicated, etc.?

And then please start by posting your debug information from the settings page.

Rebooting the server is not an option
    We are on shared hosting.
This is the debug info on pastebin

Hmm, that’s very strange. Can you look and see if those errors appear when you load the settings page?
It doesn’t look like they should be, but if they are, I need to do some digging.

Sorry for the late reply. I just wanted to give it a “rest”, let things run on their own for a while and see what it does.
I did reload the settings page again and again, went on carrying “everyday chores” as usual but the messages but the messages NEVER reappeared. 🙂

Can NOT figure out what caused them. So marking this as resolved for the time being, hoping to stay that way.

Thank you for the time and efforts,
