2 weeks ago the time.ly forum was closed, now that I became a fan of your plugin. Benjamin was helpful here so far, but still I find it a pity since I am sure in your own forum you were able to take care better, and you were more. And the WP forum, even if being an enormous grace for everyone, well, it is very rudimentary still. It is a cutback for sure, and always a pity to see services pruned, but since you offer the WP plugin for free, complaining would be inappropriate.

Anyhow I became a fan of your plugin since it made possible to get closer to my dream calendar, and I have captured my quest in a little tutorial that I would have loved to share in the “Your Calendars and Stories” section of your old forum, but it tells now to “Show off your calendar or tell us your story on the WP Forum”.

So, even if I am not used to share my story in any WP forum, and I am not even fully sure that it is in concordance with the forum rules, I would like to share my first contact with your plugin, since it includes my favorite list thumbnail technique. Enjoy and keep up a good service here on the WP forum please.

PS: Now I am really astonished not to say confused. For the first time in my life I see a checkbox down there saying “This topic is not a support question”, and I wonder if I just never saw it, if it only exists in your sub-part of the WP forum, or if it was introduced right now? Curious what will happen when I check it…
Edit: nothing happened, looks like any other post.

  • Hey Sofian777,
This is one of the best customer posts I’ve seen 🙂 I’m so happy and encouraged to see it, and you using our plugin.
We have constant challenges, we’re a very small team with a big product in a complex framework, but we are doing our best!
Yes, unfortunately Ben was and still is the only support person in the last year, and i’m working with him to make it all as effective and as prioritized as possible… Hence the long wait on some topics 🙁
We closed the time.ly forum as it was so hard for Ben to keep track on all our channels (worpress.org, time.ly and zendesk – for hosted users)
I’m still thinking on what’s the best way, and we’ll continue to improv our process and at a point, hopefully, have budget to increase the support team 🙂

We’re also trying to get some help from fans and developers that want to help us contributing to our plugin, so we made our github.com/thenly plugin public, and I’m now thinking of a way to have public jira for bugs where anybody that wants to help can.

I’m also looking for developers that would like to help as beta testers for development releases and new feature betas (like ticketing that we have in beta now).

Thanks for the kind words and let’s keep communication open 🙂

Thanks Aristotel for the kind words as well. I am glad you like my work and maybe there is a chance for collaboration – Bradley contacted me recently so I guess you passed my site forward, thanks for this. So, maybe we will hear each other more often in the future. For sure I keep you up-to-date when I create new tutorials 😀

    All the best
    Sofian
