I am capturing emails from those who want to download my free ebook.

The registrant signs up and then receives a confirmation email.

When they click on the hyperlink in the email, they are directed back to the /confirmation page.

My concern is that in this mode, the page EDIT button is exposed.

This means that my site is vulnerable.

How to I lock down this page?

  • Hi there,

Quick question: what happens if you go to that page in Incognito mode in a browser? Generally the Edit button only appears if you log in to WordPress, so you can edit the page.

This is also more of a theme issue, rather than a WP Email Capture plugin issue as well.

    Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for getting back to me. The issue was that I was logged in as admin. I just had to log out. All is good.

Awesome 🙂 – marking this as resolved 🙂

(Just to clarify a comment above).

When I said “It’s a theme issue”, I meant that the “The theme handles generally the edit links, rather than WP Email Capture”. What the theme author did was correct and good – and recommended, I wasn’t causing it an issue, I just meant if there was something wrong (which there wasn’t), I’d recommend speaking to your theme author.

There isn’t, so everything is fine 🙂
