Captcha only appears after submitting form

    When I check ‘Use CAPTCHA?’ on the Settings tab, the captcha appears as long as I am signed in to WordPress and after (!) I submit a form. When simply navigating to the form as a site visitor, the captcha is not shown.

    This is rather problematic: The visitor sees the form, fills out all fields (no captcha in sight), hits ‘Submit’ and is then presented with a new field (the captcha) and the error message ‘The text you entered did not match the image’…

    What’s wrong here? Please advise.
