Checking with contacts who know more about Credly than I do. I’ve noticed a sudden increase in issues with sending Credly data, and we haven’t done anything in the plugin itself, so I’m wondering if they’re having issues with their API at the moment.
I am wondering if by changing the password if it messed up my API key but i’m not sure how to go about finding out what it is if it changed.
I’d be surprised if that had that type of effect.
That said, haven’t heard back yet regarding their thoughts, from my last reply.
I looked up how to pull your API key again off of credly and tried it and it worked. It was different than the original key. I agree, I didn’t think it would cause that affect but it seems to be working since I repulled the API.
thanks,
Let us know if you encounter other issues.
I will. Fingers crossed. The only other Credly issue I am seeing is that when it try’s to post a badge to linked in through credly. The add to news feed works but the add directly to your profile button does not work, it does nothing.
HI Michael,
Looks like I got my hopes up to fast. It only works for a short time and then stops sending badges again. It also has problems letting me connect to badge builder to build a badge. I have had to get a new key at least 4 times now and I can only do so much before it stops again.
thanks for checking on it
I’m assuming it’s still misbehaving at the moment?
Hi Michael,
Yes I am still having trouble. I currently have Credly working where when I approve a submission it will send to credly but I cant use the badge builder without having to go out and get a new API key and then get another to make it start issuing badges again when i’m not with badge builder.
The other main problem with Credly is that it still wont save to a linked in profile, only the newsfeed itself.
thanks,
So you get it working with Credly, but need to get a new API key to get the badge builder working, which breaks the sending to Credly bit, and you’re in an infinite loop of key refreshing?
I still lack answers, but I have managed to continually create some Badge Builder achievements at the same time as sending them to Credly, without needing to re-do the API key.
