    Hi there,
    my site is http://www.lympstonesailingclub.co.uk

For each event at the sailing club, I need to assign users (from buddy press) to specific volunteering duties – e.g. Sailing Officer, Safety Boat Crew, Bar Duty etc.

In Events Manager, I have created some custom attributes for these duties, and successfully displayed them in the front end, but I’ve only created simple and non-dynamic text fields.

Please can you tell me how to change the attributes so that each field is a buddy press user field – so that when I assign a user to a duty it will show up in the site-wide activity? It would also make our admin easier as we could then email reminders etc…

Sorry if this is repeated from somewhere else but I have searched and searched the forum and can’t find the answer!

    hi,

sorry but did you mean using buddypress xprofile fields instead ?

    Hi Gelo,

thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly – yes possibly buddypress xprofie fields – my understanding of all this is very basic, so I’m sorry about that!

The custom fields I have made for entering the name of who is on duty, are simple text fields at the moment – so I can type in a name and it displays in the event –

but what I really need is to enter a buddy press users name to the field, and for this to be recognised by the system, and for it to appear in the activity stream.

    Can I do this?

I see, I’m afraid that this is not possible at the moment without lots of coding on your part.
