I have a macbook pro and I tried to download wordpress but the zip file folder is just a bunch of script and with out the softwhere downloaded it appears I can’t use plugins. I need this for a school project, please help.

Hey horsejazz34,
Specifically if you wanted to install a copy of WordPress locally on your macbook,
you could take a look at this section.

https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Installing_WordPress_on_your_own_Computer

To run it on your computer you’d need to install software like MAMP (https://www.mamp.info/en/) which sets up a virtual server on your Macbook for WordPress to be installed into.
