How to update a Child theme with the latest version of the parent theme

    Hello,

    I use Cubell Valenti theme from Themeforest.

    I notice that my child theme created by a web designer I was using is on an old version of the theme.

    I don’t know how to update it other than to select the new parent theme in place of the child theme.

    Can anyone advise me on what I should do?

    Hello dice2dice,

    You would normally download the updated theme files from Themeforest and upload them to your website via FTP. This will overwrite the current parent theme (so make sure you have a backup).

    Any amendments made in the child theme will continue and just reference the new updated parent theme. However, sometimes changes to the parent do mean that the child theme might need some adjustment.
