    Hello
    Great plugin !!
I have your plugin installed to a few websites and they all save backups to same dropbox folder.
When I click re-scan remote storage your plugin is reading all files from there (not only files from the website I am working in)
Could you help me? I am not sure if it is an error or my fault ..
    Thank you.

    Hi,

    #Thank you!

That’s the intended purpose of the “rescan” link – to detect backups stored in the folder that the current install doesn’t know about. If you don’t want to do that, then don’t click it!

    Hi
I am not sure this is a right way because .. Let me explain
I think it is a big security issue.
Let say you have 2 websites Site1 and Site2
Any they a re linked to the same Dropbox
Ok – so your great plugin will save 2 backups like BACKUP_jkhj_Site1.zip and BACKUP_jkhj_Site2.zip to the same folder. Then user of website1 will click rescan button and will get both files to Site1 plugin and will be able to delete them or restore a wrong website …
I see a big problem here and looks like no way to resolve this problem even with premium plugin because it is easy to change folder you save files to and retrieve or delete a wrong package …
    Am I wrong ?
    Thanks.

I can not even find a way to clean the list of retrieved packages … Does it exist ?
Sorry for bothering you with all that 🙂

If both sites are linked to the same Dropbox, then an admin can easily pull the Dropbox access token out of the WP database, and use that to access everything in the Dropbox app folder. Dropbox has no way of segregating different sites that use the same Dropbox app folder – that’s not part of its design. If you have multiple sites for with mutually untrusted admins, then you should not use the same Dropbox – Dropbox’s security model doesn’t allow this. Use Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage instead, as they have a security model allowing it.

I see a big problem here and looks like no way to resolve this problem even with premium plugin

The Premium version allows you to store different sites in different Dropbox sub-folders.

Please Google this: “updraftplus delete multiple backups” – it’s the #1 result.

“updraftplus delete multiple backups” does not work for me. no popup.
regarding dropbox – maybe you can implement a feature so plugin reads a package name and retrieve it if it has a website name ion it ? It might help … Thanks.

Are you on a Mac? Use the meta key. Otherwise, make sure you’re clicking the right place. The backup date for a particular backup is a suitable place.

    no – i am on Windows + FF 42.0
I click dates with control and it selects a cell not a row and no popup 🙂

Try a different browser – if that fails, you probably have a conflicting plugin.

Just noticed – Backup Now button stopped working to … on several websites – Will investigate. Maybe Old FF is not supported anymore.

Sounds like you have another plugin installed that breaks JavaScript.

Yes – Looks like. Will try to find out why is it so …
Are you able to embed a feature so your plugin is able recognize that package belongs to this website and not to another? Would be very helpful … Like a secret key or password protected archive ? Thanks.

    Hi,

There’s an add-on allowing you to store different sites’ backups in different Dropbox folders, here:

I’ve changed Dropbox account(in hope to rescan folder and get 0 downloads) but plugin still able to retrieve files from another account .. How is it possible ?

    Hi Serg,

Re-scanning a different Dropbox will only add new backups found in that Dropbox. It won’t cause already-shown backups to be removed from the list (but it will cause them to not work if you try to download them). To delete backups from the list, do this: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-can-i-delete-multiple-backup-sets-at-once/
