    Hi MassimoD,

I’ve missed this post! Sorry 🙁

Could you please tell me which theme you’re using?

If you’ve changed any settings from the default on the Home Page settings within the Home Page Settings metabox (from the SEO Settings page) or within the Page Settings (from the Page Edit SEO metabox), could you please post them?

Thank you very much in advance!

I took a lot of time to counter these issues (WordPress 4.4 will solve this issue all together), but it’s possible I’ve missed something :).

Thanks and have a great day!

P.S. Also take a look at the Tagline on http://example.com/wp-admin/options-general.php to see if there’s a dash included 🙂

    I’m using JustWrite theme.

I have changed the default on Home Page settings WITHIN the plugin’s settings. How else can i change it ? since Home is not a page ! Am i missing something ?

I have found that the extra separator is show ONLY when i enable

Add site description (tagline) to the Title on the Home Page

    Unchecking this works ok !

    Hi @massimod,

You’ve indeed missed something, but that’s my fault :P.
If your home page is a blog/posts page, you can’t edit it.
If it’s a “static” page, it reflects back and forth (it took me a couple of weeks to make this work perfectly). That’s why I asked for this :).

I’m going out to test your scenario, will report back in a few minutes.

    Thanks!

P.S. oh dear that theme is outdated.. not to worry 🙂

    Hello MassimoD,

I checked out all variables and I was unable to reproduce this on WordPress 4.4, 4.3 and 3.9 with the JustWrite theme.

The JustWrite Theme does (almost) everything according to standards from what I’ve seen so far. The only thing that’s outdated is the PHP7 compatibility (which isn’t released yet).

I assume it’s a dash added through the Tagline within /wp-admin/options-general.php

The Title Tag takes the Blog Tagline on the home page (this is per WordPress standards) and places it on the right per default.
As you’ve already noted, the disabling of Add site description (tagline) to the Title on the Home Page will remove the dash :).

If this doesn’t fix it, I’m flabbergasted and I must assume it’s another plugin messing this up.

Thanks and have a great day!

    Hi @massimod,

I’ve just updated the plugin to version 2.3.8

This update adds a Tagline field within the SEO Settings page’s Home Page Settings Metabox.

This should help you address the issue more constructively 🙂

I’m marking this topic as resolved. If however, you still encounter this issue feel free to re-open or reply to this topic and I’ll try to address the issue accordingly together with your input 🙂

Thank you very much and have a wonderful weekend!
