Uninstalling & reinstalling the plugin will have no effect as it does not make any changes to your data on uninstall.

It sounds like you might need to do a database repair for your site – this guide will help you with that: https://www.maketecheasier.com/fix-corrupted-wordpress-database-2/.

That being said, I would recommend that you contact your hosting provider as this si not an issue with SSP, but rather a database/server issue.

    Hello

    Thank you for your advice.

I got my hosting provider to run a data base repair. This has not changed anything. The data is all there in my media library but is not appearing on my site. I have run a test and this problem is unique to the podcasts, other posts display as they should.
I have been checking some other podcast plugins. I do not want to change as I am happy with your product, but one thing I noted on the other plugins was a recommendation to restrict the feed size. I cannot find this feature on your plugin. Could it be that my feed size is too large? Forgive me if this all is a little vague but I am a bit of a ham at this online radio thing…

Your feed size shouldn’t make any difference anywhere (unless you have a few thousand episodes in your feed perhaps).

If you open up each episode for editing, what do you see in the ‘Audio file URL’ fields?

I am not sure if I should feel stupid now.

But the lack of a URL in that field does seem to be the problem.

I am sure that this did not affect the display of the episodes before, as they were all up and then they vanished up to the time point when I stopped filling that URL field. Perhaps you changed something? But no matter I shall go back and fill the field as it now seems to be a requirement.

Having an audio file saved for the episode has always been a requirement. Without, the episode isn’t exactly a real podcast episode, so I don’t know why it would have been previously working for you as nothing had changed in that regard.

Either way – that is how you get it sorted out as without the audio file you just have a normal post and not a podcast episode.
