That’s actually pretty easy! You need to use the slider when setting the color inside the color picker.

The steps you show on your screencast above seem not to work on my case. I have chosen the white background with the slider to the bottom, but still the form seem to have a non-transparent white back.

You need to use the transparency slider as well. Otherwise the white bg would stick there.
I have the same problem. I have a background with a picture, and I cannot to put the background in transparent.
