Unfortunately, creating an order and sending a pay link to somebody is not going to work with Express Checkout at this point.

As you noticed, we do have plans to get this working. However, the change requires a complete overhaul of how Express Checkout is built into WooCommerce right now.

We are currently working on our 1.2 release. Once that is completed we’ll move on to 1.3, and that’s where I hope to get this done.

Unfortunately, it’s probably going to be a few months before we get to that point. I’m sorry I don’t have any better immediate news for you.

In the mean-time, you could simply provide links to people that add a product to the cart on your site and let them checkout the traditional way through the site.

It is not a bug. It’s simply a feature that was never implemented. I’m fairly certain that the WooThemes Express Checkout plugin doesn’t work this way either, but you can certainly check. They may have gotten theirs updated.

We had planned on getting it done in a previous version, but as I said, it’s going to require a complete overhaul of how Express is built into WooCommerce. That overhaul then causes problems with other features that are working, so it starts a long string of adjustments we’d have to make.

I’ve only had a couple of people asking about this out of the 10k+ active users, so it’s simply not a top priority at the moment. That doesn’t mean I’m going to ignore it. It simply means I have to focus on the other things that lots of people are asking for first.

I’m basically a one-man show here, so I can only do so much. I hope you can understand that.
