    Hi

I recently noticed that a client site had an “Error establishing a database connection”. I paniced just a bit, as it is a fairly new site, and I knew the client had been working on it. Got ready to pull up my sleeves and start the rescue when the site suddenly worked as advertised again.

Up until now I’ve never had this kind of error somehow magically repair itself so I’m curious if any of you have an idea what might have caused this.

On this particular site I’m the only one with admin access. In addition there is one editor (the one who was working on the site as I noticed this happening) and a few contributors who have yet to log in.

    All the best

Well, the error is really basic, all it means is WordPress connect connect with the database. 🙂

Given what you described, it sounds like the database server went offline for a bit and then came back.

    Yea, I get that : )

Must have been an odd coincidence then, that I happened to be logged in at the time the db server was down.

Guess there is a first for everything, never had the db connection error before without having to show some effort to fix it.. : )

After all these years, I think “weird things happen” is pretty much my motto for everything. 🙂
