“Categories”, not “Product categories”.
You are presumably using some sort of ecommerce plugin, which is probably using a custom taxonomy to handle product categories. The plugin instructions provide information on how to add support for new taxonomies.
You would be best to install the WordPress 4.4 beta BTW, as that will remove the need to use the taxonomy plugin and ensure you will have a seamless upgrade experience going forward.
BTW, it’s not possible for me to add support for new taxonomies automatically. Many taxonomies would simply make no sense to have custom headers (or any headers at all).
Hello,
Thanx for quick reply. Yes i use woocommerce and wanted a header image for my product categories, so it this plug in wont work with woocommerce?

The plugin does work with WooCommerce, but the product categories probably are not regular WordPress categories so will not work automatically.
If they are a custom taxonomy within WordPress, then you will be able to use them via the instructions provided under “Does it work with custom taxonomies?” here … https://wordpress.org/plugins/unique-headers/faq/. This requires some coding knowledge to implement though.
I think I may have found a solution to this … https://github.com/ryanhellyer/unique-headers/issues/6
If I get it working, you will likely see a new release tonight which should add support for all taxonomies. If WooCommerce uses a normal WordPress taxonomy for it’s product categories, then the plugin will start doing what you require.
This probably also requires support for a specific post-type within WooCommerce, so I added support for those into the plugin too.
I haven’t uploaded the changes to WordPress.org yet, as I want some people to test this stuff first.
If you could try out the development version hosted on GitHub, that would be super handy for me 🙂
