I am on a windows IIS.
I have placed “category” and “tag” in the base fields. And that still does not fix my “404” permalink issue. This is a fresh install with no plugins.
This is my choice of permalink: /index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/
I dont quite understand the whole .htaccess file thing that i have read in the other post. I don’t seem to have one. And nothing gives me an error in the permalinks sections that says it has a problem with the htaccess file. I have tried to make one 1.htaccess.txt with a text file and then upload it and then i rename it to .htaccess. I have then redownloaded it after making changes to the permalinks and nothing changes, it is blank.
All the folders on my site have write permissions on it, i even tried giving 777 on everything.
I use dreamweaver, and the hosting company uses a H-Sphere online server settings, with Web Shell.
If anybody could please help!!!
