• Another 26 nightmare. Although all of my files are on my db, only the base Welcome to WordPress is showing. I’m furious, frantic, and badly disappointed with this “upgrade” that has been such a nightmare for two days. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I’m completely out of ideas, especially since everything related to the way my site used to look is on my database.

Meanwhile, my secondary site upgraded smoothly with no problems whatsoever

  • Load up wp-config.php (WordPress root) in a text editor. Does it have your database info?

I replaced my entire public html with my old backup, allowed WP to upgrade, and now it’s running.

And yes, the config file had my info, which made it all the more frustrating! Thanks!

WordPress upgraded the files to the most recent 2.5.1. No more 2.6 on my primary site.

However, there are still issues left over from the 2.6 debacle. Needless to say, I will not be “upgrading” to 2.6 again until there’s some sort of fix or until 2.7 or better is released.
