    Okay, here’s the situation.

I have WordPress running what is basically a CMS for my main site. (paulaoffutt.com)

I also have WordPress as a blog on the same site. (paulaoffutt.com/blog/)

The short of it is this:
I used to have a static front page for the main site but that didn’t work anymore so now I just have a regular post. There’s actually only two posts for the main site, the rest of it is pages. The introductory post has a list of links to the main parts of the site. The links do not have /blog/ in them. For some reason, and I have no clue how long it has been doing this, when I click one of those links (or enter it in manually which is how I found the problem today), it goes to a post on the blog.

So, trying to go to paulaoffutt.com/nonfiction/ will take the view to paulaoffutt.com/blog/2005/07/nonfiction/ a POST on the BLOG not the PAGE!

This is happening to all of the pages for the main site. It goes to the blog and looks for a post with that name and that’s what comes up.

I tried changing the permalinks of the main site to default (the ugly p= one) and that only caused File 404s. I just put it back to the original (yr, month, postname) and now it is all working again!

What happened here? Anyone have a clue? Just the permalinks on the main site needing to be woken up and going from one to the other did it? But why would it go to the blog vs following the URL that has no date in it?
