Markdown is a simple markup language and it doesn’t support alignment by default. I will update the plugin so that you can embed HTML code in the post to do fancy things.

It will be a good thing. For WP posts, we need some CSS classes and Markdown cannot manage them. If you do so, I will install your plugin on my sites 🙂

I’ve updated the plugin, now it uses the Markdown module from Jetpack for parsing and saving content.
The HTML and shortcodes are supported from the version 2.0. Please check it out. Thank you for your feedback, it does help me to improve the plugin.

More and more interesting 🙂 I will take a look.

It works but for some reason, as I opened an old post, the html version was showing. So how is the content saved by the plugin now ?

Since I switched to Jetpack Markdown, now the plugin manages two versions of the post: a Markdown version and an HTML. Your old posts which are not created by the plugin will be displayed as HTML. You can convert your posts to markdown using to-markdown or other available tools.

I added this question to FAQ.

OK. Thanks. So, it becomes a very VERY interesting plugin as it manages Markdown as Jetpack – and JMarkdown I’m using for the moment – and it offers simple preview window (and JMarkdown is abandonned).

Jetpack Markdown works for comments, is your plugin doint the same ?

Yes, it works for comments the same as Jetpack Markdown. This is optional, you have to enable Markdown for comments in the Discussion Settings.

OK. So I can know desactivate two plugins and install yours.

I suppose there is no possility to show shortcode buttons in editor. I don’t need it but it’s a frequent problem in Markdown editors in WP.

Currently, there is no option to show shortcode buttons in the editor. I will add this feature to the backlog and do it in the future.
