My premium theme has a “featured post” option where one selects ID numbers of chosen posts and then the theme puts them at the top of the blog loop in a special large format. I would expect that adding in events to the main blog loop would not override this setting, but it does. It is not the default “sticky” post behavior for WordPress.
I saw this support post but it seems not to address this problem.

I’m using RichWP Master Blog theme. I’ve talked with the developer about this issue, and I’m hoping you can also provide some insight about why this is happening.

    By the way, OUTSTANDING plugin!

    Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin. I can try to help out here, but limited in getting into the details on how everything works.

I think the issue is by default when events are added we start ordering by event start date and that then breaks the featured post function.

You might be able to try this snippet to change that:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/order-events-in-main-blog-loop-by-post-date/

But I am not sure how the featured post order works so it still might not help.

    Thanks

Thank you Brian for the prompt reply!! I took another look at what’s happening in the theme and determined that this was a problem within the theme code “featured” functionality itself, and has nothing to do with the plugin. I should have tested the obvious possibility first, of course. OK to close this.
