what problems are you having? Simply username/password? or…is there an error message?
Thank you for getting back to me. I am sorry for not giving enough info. I started this website in 2008… I did not make it, I had it outsourced because I truly am not a “whiz” at computers. In the very beginning, I was able to get into the site from the “back door” to edit and add images to the site. I used the URL http://www.hbphotographs.com/wp-admin and was able to do whatever I needed to do. I, unfortunately, have not used the site in some time, and now want/need to revive it. Today, I tried to go into it using the same URL as stated above and was met with “Your URL could not be found”. There was not “error” message, just that I cannot log into my site. What happened? I am wondering if I lost the domain? I have no idea… just a guess…
You clearly haven’t lost the domain or the entire website would be unavailable.
I can reach the /wp-admin page and get no error message.
So presumably you entered your username and password, then got the error message “Your URL could not be found”.
What happens if you then go straight to http://www.hbphotographs.com/wp-admin ? Do you get a login form or the error message?
I cannot sign in at all… it says “Invalid User Name”. UGH
AND…when it asks me to ask for a new password to be emailed to me, I get the new one, but when I enter it in the password section, it says “incorrect password”.
Well, that’s self-explanatory.
You could still send yourself a reset password email, by entering your email address.
If you’re the only user, your username might be Admin (if it is by the way, that’s not good fir security).
You could use phpMyAdmin to find out your username and reset your password – see http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password#Through_phpMyAdmin
I think it may have worked! I changed the password and it went through… thank you so much! If I have any more problems… I will get back to you here, in this forum. Thank you so much!!!!
