Would like to show thumbnail for each document.

    I have tried 4-5 WP plugins related to document creation and find this one simply the best.

    However, one requirement I want is showing the cover thumbnail for each document in both the TOC page and each document page. I understand that the category in WP does not allow featured image, but is it possible to use the image of the first post in each document as the thumbnail of document. This feature could be set to be used or not by admin.

    Here’s a custom function that will accomplish what you want: it will use the first image of the first post each main Docs category as the cover thumbnail.

    By default, it will show that cover thumbnail on the “Top level item page” (the TOC page), and also on each single Docs post, above the sidebar TOC widget.

    The function allows you to show the cover thumbnail in any of 5 different location. See it here: Use the First Image in a Docs Category as a Cover Thumbnail.
