The calendar ID you posted above looks like a regular email address and not a google calendar. Double check the ID on Google’s calendar settings page.

Please ensure that both your Google Calendar ID and API Key are valid and that the Google Calendar you want to display is public.

I have recreated API key and pasted with no extra spaces
I am 100% sure that calendar ID is just the email ID
Nothing changed and still get the folowing msg.

Are you sure that the calendar has been made public? I have a private calendar that has the ID identical to one of my email addresses. I have a public one that has an ID similar to umx1x0hrrtr8753xx6ba2t0q08@group.calendar.google.com.

At the google page for the calendar, go to Calendar Settings > Share This Calendar and make sure ‘make this calendar public’ is checked. And then check the ‘share’ section for the ID.

If that doesn’t work, ask about this in the support channel for the calendar plugin you’re using.

Yes. It is shared as public.

I’m having the same issue with Simple Calendar plugin. I’ve had this installed for a couple of days and occasionally it gives me the “While trying to retrieve events, Google returned an error:

Please ensure that both your Google Calendar ID and API Key are valid and that the Google Calendar you want to display is public.”

It’ll be working for while and then at some point it will just stop. I’ve double checked my share status, API, & ID in google and all are correct.

This is not a legit workaround but something I found strange is if I change the view settings it’ll start working again. I’ve had it in “list” mode and if I switch it to Grid it starts working. To me indicates its something with the plugin and not Google.

The grid trick is not working to me, but another suggestion it might be the plugin and not google is that the plugin reports:

While trying to retrieve events, Google returned an error:
Error calling GET https://www.googleapis.com/calendar/v3/calendars/ankenyunited%40gmail.com/events?singleEvents=true&maxResults=2500&timeZone=America%2FChicago&timeMin=2015-12-26T00%3A00%3A00-06%3A00&timeMax=2018-01-24T23%3A59%3A59-06%3A00&key=AIzaSyD7U49C6UDI_j147rNQDeRbV2e568R9ahA: (500) Backend Error

While if I just cut and paste the URL, I seem to get the calendar code:

    “etag”: “\”1453740250156000\””,

    “email”: “ankenyunited@gmail.com”,

    },

    (etc)

Now, I’d be perfectly happy to purchase the pro version of this plugin, but I’m concerned that it still wouldn’t work.

I’m looking through these forums trying to get answers the problem I have with Simple Calendar. This post is pretty similar but the error messages I get are:

cURL error 7: Failed to connect to 2a00:1450:4005:803::200a: Network is unreachable Please ensure your calendar ID is correct.

I’ve checked calendar ID and API several times and nothing seems to work.

    Can anyone help?
