Can't publish a post with a video embedded inside

    I’m having a weird problem, I want to add a video embed code to a post on my site but when I add the code and, hit ‘publish’ the page just goes dead. I can publish it if the post content is blank or just some text but if this video embed code is in there it just won’t publish. I’ve tried switching to a default theme but its still the same problem so i guess the problem isn’t my theme. Could it be a permissions issue? And if so how would i check or what would these need to change to? I can embed a video fine if its on a page too but just can’t do it if its a post.

    Thanks in advance for any help, i’m going out of my mind trawling for answers!

    Hi James,

    Thanks for your response, i’ve tried a load of different videos, the one I actually want to go in there is from Animoto actually but i’ve tried youtube videos too and just having the code present on the page isn’t letting me publish the page. If i use the same code on a page rather than a post it works fine so i know the code is good.

    I just tried that and had no trouble under WordPress 4.3.1 and Chrome 46.0.2490.71 (64-bit).

    Make sure that you’re pasting the code into the Text editor tab (not the Visual tab). If it doesn’t work there, try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
