    Hi,

I love the Blog Style Two widget–it fixed a major issue for me with the layout of my blog.

However, as soon as my site went live, the page that the widget is in (my blog page–but not my static ‘posts’ page) started behaving strangely. The details of the page were being pulled from the oldest post on the page–so the page’s header image changed to the featured image of the blog post, and the title of the page changed to the title of the blog post (but this was only after I turned Yoast on). Also, when I’m logged into my admin account and I click the ‘edit’ button at the bottom of the page, it takes me to the post’s editing page, not the page’s editing page.

I’ve turned Yoast off for the moment because I can’t figure out how to fix the title of the page, but I’ve managed to fix the header image with a bit of CSS. However, I’d love to have this fixed.

My website is http://www.hederaep.com and the specific page I talk about above is http://www.hederaep.com/blog.

    Thanks in advance!

    Rosie

    HI @hederaep

Thank you for liking my plugin and using it.

Sorry to hear the trouble, however this seems strange to me. Because the widget purpose is only limited to the area it is being added and it should/could not change the page’s header. I could also not debug it because currently you have disabled the other plugin which causing conflict.

Is it possible for you to enable the seo plugin for some time and so i can test it. Better if you have a proto site where you can experiment it as i might not be quickly able to review it depends on my work schedule.

Update me here please with the link when you create a proto page/site and i will look into this.

    Thanks,
    Munir

    Hi Munir,

    Thanks for your quick response.

I thought it was strange too, because as you say it should only be an element on the page.

I don’t think it’s actually changing the header–I think it is actually changing the page to be read as a post (or something like that??) and this is why when I click the edit button on the page, it takes me to the oldest post, and why the header is changing when Yoast is turned on.

I’ve turned on Yoast SEO, so the issues are now back. The only thing I haven’t changed back is the header image, because I just changed that with a simple bit of CSS, but I can change that back too if you need me to.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Munir,

I’ve had Yoast turned on for five days–five days of having the incorrect title on my blog page–but no response yet, so I’ve had to turn it off for now. If you can let me know when you think you’ll be able to have a look at the problem, I’ll turn it back on then.

    Thanks,

    Rosie

I fixed my problem. For anyone else who may be having the same problem, I used the MP Stacks Postgrid plugin instead of Blog Style 2 to give pretty much the same outcome.

    Thanks!
