First of all, thanks for jetpack, I think it’s awesome plugin!!!!
    One issue & one suggestion.

issue: mobile jetpack is semi-working. Meaning I test on Note 2 and note 3 phone I have and one phone, every page loads mobile version except for front page. On the other phone, front page loads mobile but there are couple random pages loading desktop version. This is ‘WITHOUT’ clicking view desktop version and I tried using different browser also removing all browsing data and cache on the phone.

Suggestion: Publicize – can we add pinterest? 🙂

    thanks!!!

It could be that one of your plugins, or your theme, is overwriting Jetpack’s mobile detection functions.

Could you try to deactivate all your plugins, one at a time, until you find the conflict? if that doesn’t help, could you try switching to one of the default themes, like Twenty Fifteen, for a few minutes, and let me know how it goes?

    Thanks!

That’s not possible at the moment, as Publicize doesn’t offer an API allowing you to automatically publish posts from a third-party service.

actually all you need to do is disable mobile meta within the theme… 🙂

actually, that did not work… And it’s probably not plugin that’s casuing the issue. I’m using i-transform theme which is responsive… So i think jetpack mobile and theme’s mobile version is fighting against each other??? Do you know what i can try?

Ok, its possible that cache from worsfence was causing this issue. . ill report back. Do you know of deleting meta viewport line in header. Php of responsive theme is necessary?

If your theme is already responsive, you probably don’t need to use Jetpack’s Mobile Theme. You could deactivate the module altogether.

If that turns out to be the case, try to check the plugin options to make sure it doesn’t cache and serve pages on mobile. That should solve the problem.

Ok, i resetted cache and it’s still having issue… I do remember wordfence saying that it will not cache mobile version to support Jetpack Mobile.

The reason i’m trying to use jetpack mobile is because my theme’s responsive version of mobile is not really good. It works well for ipad and tablet but not for mobile.

It works well… it’s obvious that theme is causing the issue. I created a test environment next.onesie2onesie.com

But in actual site onesie2onesie.com I noticed last night that all pages work pretty well with jetpack mobile.. but the front page is often displayed via theme which is i-transform.

I think jetpack mobile is having hard time taking the control away from the theme.

I tried using mobile theme switcher but jetpack mobile does NOT show up as theme… if it did, it’d solve this issue quick. Let me know if there’s anything else i can try… I’d hate to forced to change to another mobile theme… I like how Jetpack mobile works and looks….

The other issue i’m having that’s also major is that once mobile site does come up, whcih is about 80~90% so that’s not too bad.. but when I press ‘Full Site View’ on bottom and go to theme’s responsive view… I cannto go back to mobile view. it’s almost as ‘you’re already at mobile view’, where do you want to go?

How can I get rid of link for ‘full site view’?

I tried using mobile theme switcher but jetpack mobile does NOT show up as theme

You don’t need to use any external plugin or theme switcher: Jetpack’s Mobile Theme is set to appear as soon as someone visits the page from a mobile device.

But in actual site onesie2onesie.com I noticed last night that all pages work pretty well with jetpack mobile.. but the front page is often displayed via theme which is i-transform.

I think jetpack mobile is having hard time taking the control away from the theme.

I tried installing i-transform on a test site of mine, but I couldn’t reproduce the issuel the Mobile Theme appears to be working properly on my end.

Could you try to deactivate all other plugins on your test site, one at a time, and let me know if you find a conflicting plugin?

when I press ‘Full Site View’ on bottom and go to theme’s responsive view… I cannto go back to mobile view.

When you switch away from Jetpack’s Mobile Theme using the “View Full Site” link at the bottom of the page, we add a “View Mobile Site” link at the bottom of the Full Site, so you can get back to the mobile site at any time.

Ok, this is the issue… If you just activate jetpack mobile on i-transform, it works…

Issue 1: But if you ever press ‘View Full Site’ on bottom of the phone, then it loads responsive site of the i-transform. Then even if you press ‘view mobile site’ after, you cannot get back.

Issue 2: Once above issue starts, then other mobile units will start seeing i-transform also instead of jetpack mobile.

Issue 3: It is also possible that it’s having issue with Visual Composer? this is a known issue?

@bulewold: Can you please try to deactivate all of your plugins except for Jetpack, and then see if the issue persists? Please let us know how that works for you!

    Thread Starter bulewold

    (@bulewold)

I’m sorry but I decided to not use Jetpack because going through process of deactivating all the plugins would cause significant downtime and re-customization after reactivation.

I have solved this issue by installing a mobile theme switcher and just have it point mobile phoens to a different theme. To be honest it works about the same as what Jetpack was providing but at least now it works 100% of the times! 🙂

Just fyi, to make this work for me, I had to also exclude certain user agent type within cache… maybe that’s a part of the issue?

Thanks for the additional info, and I’m glad that you found a solution that worked for you!
