Text/HTML editor doesn´t respond

Hi,

I´ve gone through the other topics about positioning the flags to my preference and understood that to do it, I should use the Text/HTML fields.
When adding <span style=”padding: 50 px”> and closing it either in the Menu or Main section, nothing happens on the page. The flags are still next to each other.

I´m using WP 4.3.1 and doing it on localhost with an Ample theme

Could you please give suggestions on where to look or how to solve this situation?
