Support » Plugin: WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency with WPML » Each release introduces more bugs, UI is a mess, performance is really bad

  • I have had very bad experiences with WooCommerce Multilingual.

Each release introduces new bugs that can potentially break your stores. I can’t imagine all the hours I’ve spent trying to resolve issues that were caused by the latest of WPML. Each release, over and over again.

    The User Interface is messy.

WPML drags site performance down, expect at least 5-6 second loading times after activating WooCommerce Multilingual.

Their support is mediocre, actually quite bad. Their first solution is to let you try and disable all other plugins, if that does not resolve the problems they advice to install their latest experimental build. Each follow up message to your support question takes at least a day.

As an example, these are consecutive issues occurring in a webshop of a client of mine over the past year and a half using WooCommerce Multilingual together with WPML – this is not a joke:

    • Server logs are always full of long SQL query warnings caused by WPML.
    • Products can not be edited or the translated product will not function anymore.
    • Coupon codes are not working.
    • Products are shown twice on the single product page.
    • Menus can not be edited, giving a 404 when trying to save.
    • Prices in other currencies can’t have any decimals, these are just chopped off, even when proceeding to Paypal.
    • Coupons not working again.
    • Products pages randomly show a 404.

In the end these were all caused by WPML and WooCommerce Multilingual.

Please stay far away from this product!

  • I totally agree with you. Once I installed WooCommerce Multilingual on any of my clients websites it became slow dramatically.

    Hi Yamenshahin

Please note that the previous comment is 9 months old and both WPML and WooCommerce Multilingual have been greatly improved in terms of design/UI but also performance.

If you are still using either WPML or WooCommerce and still have problems, you’re more than welcome to report these issues and we’ll be glad to assist.
