Is there a way to make it so any photos that I have paid for or that are of me are not able to be used anywhere else? Currently when I insert a photo you are able to click on it and save it.

There is no surefire way to prevent content theft on any website.

You might want to consider watermarking your photos.

On other websites I have researched I have say clicked on the profile picture of the owner and nothing happens. I can right click of course and save etc but when I add a photo to my site and I click on it it opens in its own tab/window. Any idea why?

It sounds like you’ve selected the option to link to the media file when inserting the image:

Edit Post Lovebirds 1 1 1 by Automattic WordPress

That means when you click on the image, it’ll link to the image file itself.

This isn’t a theme feature, but an option when inserting media on any WordPress site.

You can change that by going back to edit the image and selecting one of the other options.

If this doesn’t help, could you provide a link to your public site so I can take a look?

    Hi Kathryn,

Sorry for the delay. I checked a couple of other websites and I think I will leave it the way it is. It seems standard. Any photos I take myself I will watermark before uploading so they remain my property.

    Thank you so much.
