I see where/how to make string translations but I don’t see how to activate them on the live site. How does that work?

I need to use Spanish for the WP-Members plugin.

I suggest you work through the beginner’s example guide which walks through the ‘activation’ process. https://localise.biz/help/wordpress/translate-plugin/beginners
