I’m working on an updated version of a site using Customizr. Not sure if this is a feature that exists in a plugin (I’m not finding one), a feature I’m missing in Customizr, or something that could be a useful feature request for Customizr.

Site in question: http://nds.allpositiveconsulting.com (dev version)

This institution has two faces: the seminary and the graduate school. Ideally, I would like the main navigation to reflect which face of the institution someone needs. I’m picturing a fake-modal window of sorts popping up when someone first visits the site to ask them whether they want the seminary (formation) version of the menu or graduate school (for lay people) version. That would then cause the main navigation menu to switch between two different menus set up and named differently in WordPress. Then, somewhere near/on the main menu, there would be a toggle to switch between the two menus for people who view both.

If you can think of another way to achieve this end, I’m all ears.

    Thanks!
    Joe

  • Hi,

I think it’s too complicated to be implemented as a theme feature, especially the “switching” menu. It’s also not a good user interface for popup in mobile view.

I suggest you create a HTML landing page on your main domain and setup two sub domains for your seminary and graduate school. The landing page will have a user interface for user to select which school’s website they will want to visit, which will load your sub domains.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!

Thanks. I suspected that might be the case, but I wanted to toss it out to see if a solution could be found.
