I currently cannot see the translation widget on your site, so I’m unsure of your website’s speed performance as of now.
The plugin is using more internal WordPress scripts as of now, compared to using externally-loaded scripts a just weeks ago. My only guess is that Google files had slow loading times at that specific moment.
Please let me know if you want me to look further into your issue.

Also…..I ran a small Audit on the site (in the Google Chrome browser), and I’m seeing heavy load in the header of your site. I can help make some suggestions if needed. (Check the audit by using Google Chrome > Inspect Element > Audit)
The translator would slow your site since the plugin connects to Google scripts, but you definitely have heavy load in your header, which would complicate this more.
