• I have Paid Membership Pro plugin installed with the Use reCAPTCHA option enabled on the registration page at membership checkout. It worked fine for some time. After selecting the images and getting the check mark, once someone clicks on the Submit and Confirm button, the page displays “reCAPTCHA failed. (Unknown error.) Please try again.” I double checked private and public keys and Google webmaster settings. Everything looks fine. Any suggestions?

    I rolled back Paid Membership Pro to version 1.7.9.1 which uses numeric validation instead of picture selection validation, and it works fine. However, this version has a security vulnerability which I am not too comfortable with.

    I had this problem, and it was actually a hosting issue. I had to add this to php.ini:
    allow_url_fopen = On

    I’m having the same problem. If I check out by card it says recaptcha didnt work. If I turn recaptcha off it works however, if I try to checkout with Paypal it says recaptcha didnt work even though recaptcha is turned off. I tried adding your text and checking out with paypal but unfortunately this didnt work for me I just got an error message saying the security header was not valid. I’m paying PMP for PMP Pro Plus i.e. their VIP service and getting no support at all on this. Has anyone else come across this and have any solutions/ideas, they can share ?
