• I have accidentally upload PNGs on my site and now those images takes time to load. Now I want to change all PNGs to JPGs on the database and then in the directory. I’m working on my localhost so changing the images won’t be a problem but I don’t know where to change it in the database table.

I downloaded Better Search and Replace plugin so that I can search and replace those .png to .jpg but it’s asking me what table to change. I can select all the tables but I’m afraid i might change those images that I’m not suppose to.

I have no Posts, only Pages and therefore all the images are uploaded in the Page section.

    thanks!

  • Hi unfortunately changing the file name from example.png to example.jpg in the database won’t work in the way that you hope.

If you wish to replace the png images on your site with jpg ones you will need to make those changes with an image editor and then upload the jpg files to your site.
