    Hi there,

I have a page with multiple audio files embedded through the WordPress media player. Sometimes clicking the play button of some of these files will not play them on the page. I need to refresh the page and click the play button again to make it work.

In the console I can see this error for each file that doesn’t play:
“Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 416 (Requested Range Not Satisfiable)”.

When I visit the link to the audio file itself (the one created by the media library when the audio file is uploaded), it can be played without an issue. As I explained above, it’s on the page where the audio player is loading the file where it is not consistent and sometimes it will play it and sometimes not and will keep the pause button indefinitely.

I deactivated all plugins and also did some research and tried “Header set Accept-Ranges none” in the .htaccess file with no luck. Unfortunately, nothing has solved the problem so far.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks so much.

I found out that the problem is related to the server configuration. It is a bug that occurs on servers using Varnish.

You may want to contact your hosting provider if you experience it.

    Good luck!
