Support » Plugins » wp_editor() with tinyMCE missing certain buttons like link

  • Hey all,

I’m using wp_editor() on the front end of a site that has tinyMCE advanced installed. It seems no matter how much configuration I do, I can’t get certain buttons to show up, like link, unlink, background color, horizontal rule, among others.

Is there some reason why certain tinyMCE controls are excluded for wp_editor()? Or is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong.

    Yours truly,
“Really Tired of This Stupid Problem”

  • Hi,

I have exactly the same problem and I can’t figure out what the problem is, did you find the solution? Or does someone else know what the answer is? I have two websites with the same theme, one shows all buttons in the editor, the other shows only the buttons before the ‘link’ button. The problem seems to be with the link button, but what… I deactivated all plug-ins one by one, I tried to move the link-button to another location with the plugin “Frontier buttons” but the only thing happening was that the replaced button disappeared.

    Anyone???

Apparently, on the internet wp_editor() is like Fight Club: you don’t talk about it.
