Just confirmed that this issue is not fixed in the 6.4 beta 2 version.

It works fine in WP 6.2.4, but with 6.3 I have exactly the same behaviour as described by Nathan above.

Installing TML 6.4 Beta 2 did not help.

@unicornis… I’m sorry you’re having the same issue, but I’m also glad I’m not the only one!

Jeff (plugin author) pointed me into the right direction. It seems it is because my custom forms. I am currently redoing them into the new format. Will let you know if it worked.

To which custom forms are you referring?

Nathan, if you’re using TML 6.3.12, it is not compatible with WP 4.3. Unicornis is refering to TML 6.4 beta.

I have just updated to TML 6.4 and also having this problem. What should I do ?

I have WP 4.3.1 with TML 6.4 and am also seeing the issue described by Nathan Ingram above. Please advice or look into a possible fix.

I’m having this problem, described elsewhere as well. There’s a duplication of the new password field, and when you type into the confirm field it only shows the last character you typed – in the duplicated new password field.

I have a custom resetpass-form.php in my theme. I’m comparing it with the new default template and as far as I can tell I’ve updated it to match, but nothing’s changed.

Is there any way we can be pointed in the direction of the changes that have been made, or an itemisation of what is necessary for the functionality to work? I’ll keep comparing manually but it’s tricky.

Update: progress, I’ve matched some more classes. However, now I’ve got no fields at all. The element with the class wp-pwd is completely hidden, as is the element with the class user-pass2-wrap, so all I can see is the ‘New password’ label.

I am using 6.4 beta, works fine with new WordPress. However, I had to change the customs forms that I was using in the prevoius version to make it work.

I’ve got it working now. I think part of the issue was that I changed a DIV nested inside a P on the reset password form to a SPAN. There must be some selector somewhere that relies on the DIV being a DIV. No idea why – it’s appalling that there’s such invalid markup in WP core now. But it’s working…

Believe me, I hate the entire password system change, myself.

Thanks for sticking with the updates through all of this, Jeff. We really do appreciate your work and the excellent plugin!

I can see why they did it. But I can see (and feel!) how much of a pain it is for plugins like this. Many thanks for your effort on the revamp Jeff.
