• I have an auto-poster plugin for Facebook and while this worked OK, the image never generated the first time. It only ever generated the 2nd time. I found out that this is to do with how Facebook scrapes meta data and must cache the page first before it knows about any images.

I installed all the plugins of the day (including a very well known SEO plugin to help add og:image tags to posts) but these didn’t work either.

In the end, this plugin saves the day.

It gets Facebook to cache my page when the user publishes it (and re-publishes it etc).

However, I admit I did have to purchase the premium version of that auto-poster plugin to delay the auto-post by 1 minute since the whole caching call takes a few moments.

But overall, I am overjoyed that this plugin works perfectly!
