[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Custom Gallery in Sidebar Based on Custom Field

Would it be possible to use this plugin to have a custom slideshow in the sidebar, which changes for each post based on a Custom Field ID?

I don’t want the slideshow to be in the main content, I want it to be over to the side, and I want the gallery used to be different for each different post. It seems like the easiest way to do that is to add a Custom Field with an ID in it, but is it possible to embed the slideshow in my sidebar.php and have it look for that custom ID?
