Oddly enough the plugin needs to be completely uninstalled and reinstalled in order for it to display the most recent listing of events. Today, for example, at the beginning of the day the plugin was displaying no events while there was one live event in Eventbrite. We uninstalled the plugin, reinstalled it and the event appeared. Three more events were added to the account and now we are going to have to do the same in order for the events to appear. Unfortunately this is not the best way to get the events to show up. Any idea what may be going on?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello,

You’re right, it’s not the best, and we’re looking at options to improve it.

It happens because of caching; we use caching to speed up page load times, but it means that when you add new events on eventbrite.com, you have to wait for the current cache to expire before they show up (this can be anywhere up to 24 hours). Disconnecting and reconnecting dumps the cache, so it’s currently the best way to see any new events immediately.

If you are/have a developer, there’s a filter called eventbrite_cache_expiry that allows the cache to be set to whatever you like. There’s also this tiny plugin that will change it from one day to one hour, if that’s better for you (choose “Download ZIP” and then upload that ZIP from Plugins > Add New): https://github.com/Automattic/eventbrite-api-cache-one-hour
