styles missing after moving site from subdirectory to root | WordPress.org

I moved my site from a development sub-directory to root with the search and replace method and the site comes up fine but the styles are missing. Is there no way at all to retrieve my development version now that I’ve changed from test directory to root?

Hey,
It depends on how you transferred. If you copied then used a script to replace your url strings (like suggested here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
Or you used a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/ Then you should still have everything on the development site.

but if you directed edited the development site and didn’t copy you wouldn’t have a way to still have it there.

Does that make sense?
