How to access FTP Files from within the page editor

    I am using WP in a website, and I can FTP files up from an older site. I have done that onto the WP site, but I cannot figure out how to access any files on the FTP location from within the wordpress page editor. How do you use the files you have uploaded if you cannot access them?

    Are you talking about media files? If yes then just moving the files is not enough. Right now the files are in your uploads folder but WordPress has no record of them in its database. What you should do is use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/add-from-server/

    It will add the files to your WordPress database so they show up on the page editor.

    Ok thanks. kinda what I was looking for, at least for pictures and such. Looks like there is no way to build a traditional set of pages and structure with wp. This might make it usable….
