    Hi there,

Thank you for contacting AddThis support.

I can see that you are using Cache plugin, and I think that is probably the problem. Please clear the cache in that plugin and check to see if that resolves the issue. You will have to clear the cache any time you make a change to the AddThis plugin settings.

If that doesn’t work, you should check if it works with the cache plugin disabled (at least just for a test). It could also be a theme issue, but that’s unlikely because our CSS is being added to the page.

Feel free to contact us for more questions.

    Thanks,
    Elsa.

    Jorge,

I’m seeing the markers in place for where sharing buttons would go, but our JavaScript isn’t on the page.

An unusually large amount of your JavaScript is included in your footer instead of your header. Are you using a plugin to do that for you? It might be removing the AddThis JavaScript from the header and then not adding it back into the footer.

Another possibility is that it’s never getting added in the first place. If you’re comfortable reading PHP, you can also check to see if your theme is using the wp_head() function, as that’s the function that would add the AddThis JavaScript. I would have checked myself, but it doesn’t seem to be a publicly available theme. Here’s WP documentation on it: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_head

Be sure to clear your cache plugin’s cache after any changes.

    Thanks,
    Julka

    Hi, @julka,

I’m using WP Super Cache and Yoast SEO, but I dont’ found any setting about head or footer in them.

AddThis is randomly shown in some posts and not in others.

Have you any idea? There are any plugin I could install in order to put the code in the header?

    Thanks.

I have the same issue, I can see the addthis code in my page source but nothing is showing up – any ideas?

I have discovered a strange behavior. My buttons were not showing on certain posts, but where showing on others. I managed to find out what makes the difference between the two:

The buttons were not appearing on the posts without custom excerpt.

I think the developers of the plugin should find an answer for this strange behavior and probably nail the problem that is puzzeling a lot of addthis users.

I am looking forward for the follow ups regarding this strange bug

    Regards, G.

UPDATE: I got it to work on my website, but the share buttons don’t show up on mobile. How do I fix that?

Hi, Elsa, I can’t seem to get the AddThis social sharing buttons to show up either. Can you take a look, please, and tell me what I did wrong? I set it up using the AddThis dashboard after installing the plugin, added the code to footer.php before the </body> tag, but nada. http://rockthestatusquo.com

The same is happening on my sites as for @gresakg

Unless the post has an excerpt included, the div for the toolbox is on the page, but the javascript isn’t included in the head so the buttons aren’t created.

Set the excerpt and the javascript and buttons appear.
