Is there a reason you didn’t ask for support in the Support forum prior to leaving a negative review? I would be happy to help you figure out why it isn’t working for you, because I can assure you that the plugin works.
If you’ve tried deactivating all the plugins then we can safely assume that your theme is the problem. Please read the FAQ. You can ask your theme’s author to patch the theme or follow the instructions to try to patch it yourself. Or in the worst case follow work around #1, which is not ideal but requires no coding.
Also of note, the Nav Menu Roles fields do not appear in the WordPress customizer as there is literally no way to do that with the current state of WordPress, the menus must be modified from the admin in order to use NMR.
Just a quick note to anyone looking – NMR works fine with WooCommerce.

It is not fair to the plugin developer nor the community of users to rate this plugin a 1 star in the manner that you did.
Why it is not fair to the developer is obvious.
It is not fair to the community because your rating gives an unrealistic, bad impression of the plugin, which in turn means less people may use a plugin that can be helpful to them.

As you’ve both noted, this review is incorrect, and Nav Menu Roles works 100% with WooCommerce. @eagleslife is clearly experiencing a theme issue that is discussed in the FAQ. NMR will conflict with certain plugins/themes that are also overriding the admin menu Walker (themes especially have no business doing this!), but WooCommerce is 100% not one of those plugin that are conflicting.
