    EWWW Image Optimizer

I am not a developer, I’m a content admin who routinely updates the plugins along with content and I no longer have access to the original developer. Please bare with me if I’m asking silly questions. I’ll take all the help I can get! The site I manage is: http://addadult.com/

Here’s the message I see in the backend:
EWWW Image Optimizer uses jpegtran, optipng, pngout, pngquant, gifsicle, and cwebp. You are missing: optipng, gifsicle, pngout. Please install via the Settings Page or the

    Installation Instructions.
Pngout was not installed: extraction of files failed. Make sure this folder is writable: /var/www/webadmin/data/www/addadult.com/wp-content/ewww/

As for what’s happening: In the last routine plugin update, something happened to the CSS that I can’t figure out. I’m desperately hoping there’s someone here who can help me fix it as I’m now out of my league!

In the backend, everything is there – the menus, the content, etc. But, on the live site, you can see none of the submenus are appearing nor are the components on the bottom. See the white space? But, if you hover over the white space on the bottom of the home page, you can see the links are still there and it takes you to the right place. Something is just off with the display.

My amazing hosting company gave some background:
We checked your server and found that the error log is showing some invalud URL requests. These may come from your code, especially if plugins were recently updated they may have changed some settings or some configuration options . One example is

    [Tue Aug 25 19:31:44 2015] [error] [client 66.102.6.137] Invalid URI in request GET /../font/fontawesome-webfont.eot?v=3.2.1 HTTP/1.1, referer: http://www.addadult.com/wp-content/themes/envision/includes/modules/module.fontawesome/source/css/font-awesome.min.css?ver=1.0.8.5

As you can see it looks like it is requesting /../font/fontawesome . In this case if the directory structure has changed then some assets will not load properly. This can be the case as well with CSS files or other files that are needed to get the menu to show.

That sounds like they are either having hard disk failure, or the permissions got messed up on a bunch of the files in your WP folder. I’d ask your webhost to pursue those two thoughts. They should be able to check and see if the font-awesome.min.css file actually exists where it is supposed to be. IF it is, then that’s a permissions problem. IF it is NOT there, then you’ve lost some files, and ought to see if they can restore your site from a recent backup (assuming you won’t be losing a lot of stuff if they do so).

I really cannot thank you enough for taking the time to help me when clearly it had nothing to do with your plugin. You were right, that’s exactly what happened and my hosting company helped correct it. I appreciate your help so very much.
